Cerebrating 35 Years Anniversary
Evangelos Geraniotis, the father of Andeas, was a professional in the agricultural sector with a keen interest in camping and agritourism. He gradually acquired plots of land through hard work, eventually becoming the site for Geraniotis Hotel & Resort.
The Geraniotis family has always loved the people and the local community of Gerani & Platanias. They have shown their love for their neighbors by supporting them whenever there was a need and embodying the Cretan hospitality that is so deeply ingrained in the family culture.
Andreas & Alexandra Geraniotis took this family culture and turned it into their professional calling. With their vision and human relationships, they created the first 58 rooms, which opened their doors on May 19th, 1988.
An 18-room hotel extension followed in 1992. After the guests were satisfied with the hotel’s operation, the decision was made to further develop the unit.
In 2004, the expansion was completed, and the hotel opened with the first 40 apartments. Step by step, the hotel has grown to what it is today, with a total of 146 rooms and apartments.
Over the years, the main priority of the hotel’s development has been modernization, continuous improvement, sustainable management and operation, local touch, and a friendly family atmosphere. All of the above have aimed, aim, and will aim to make guests’ experience at Geraniotis Hotel & Resort feel like their home in Crete.
The most profound principles that have guided the Geraniotis family for four generations are family, trust, cooperation, teamwork, and fairness.
The Geraniotis family’s biggest allies have been their beloved team, precious partners, and dearest guests who have become friends.
Following Geraniotis Hotel & Resort’s journey, in 2023, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of its first opening. A family business, that started with Andreas & Alexandra, parents & grandparents, positively stares at the future.
